What can TinyBeacon show? Safe-zone arrivals and leaves are available on every build. Coarse device wellbeing status is available on every build after a parent or legal guardian gives consent and enables it. App time is available on Android only after a parent or legal guardian gives consent and enables Android Usage Access; iPhone does not collect cross-app app-use. Screen and web safeguards depend on a supervised build, and messages/calls safety review is limited to supervised-plus Android. Emergency help is available on every build.
How does consent work? Every data-collecting scope starts off except emergency help. The parent or legal guardian chooses what to enable, the child can see what is shared, and the parent or legal guardian can withdraw a safeguard. A child can raise a concern or ask a grown-up for help.
How long is data kept? The standard family window is 7–180 days, with a 30-day default. Some supported scopes can have a shorter rule, so the applicable setting is shown before you choose it.
Does TinyBeacon replace the mobile app? No. TinyBeacon is a mobile app first. The website explains the product, shares the privacy details, and helps you install current build 1.6.8 through TestFlight or Google Play production and closed alpha.
What does “encrypted at rest” mean here? Screenshot evidence kept for a parent is end-to-end encrypted — only your family's devices hold the key. Each frame is checked by our safety service first, and frames that are not a concern are never stored. Location and other safety data are encrypted in transit and at rest. The protection applies to the chosen data scope; it does not expand what the family can see.
What is the screen-content path? On supported supervised Android, a chosen screenshot-based concern can produce a concise heads-up. The path is partial, and messages/calls safety review is limited to supervised-plus Android. Families are told the scope before choosing it.
